We would
like to express our utmost gratitude for the kindness and service
shown
to our parents, Rose & Joe Ciaccia as they moved from their
separate facilities to an apartment at Deer Meadows.
Mrs. Regina
Hesdon originally suggested that they occupy separate rooms when
they first entered Deer Meadows in November of 2003 as no apartments
were available at that time. This was a wonderful interim solution
as they received outstanding care and especially for our father it
gave him the ability to obtain therapy much sooner.
The apartment
they now own is wonderful. Its size is just large enough and its
location {we call it their penthouse suite) is just great. The first
few days of their move and their following occupancy were a pleasant
experience for us all. It seemed an army of people were there to
aid their every need. The apartment was spotless as the housekeepers
moved the furniture; the maintenance people installed pictures, repaired
a broken "emergency cord" and then installed at our mom’s
request an additional" emergency cord" in the bathroom:
The TV cable hookup needed to be moved and handicapped bars were
placed around the toilet. An occupational therapist instructed our
mom on how to enter and exit the tub and returned for three days
to check on progress. In addition, the heater in her bathroom failed
on the third day and was replaced immediately by the maintenance
staff. Our mom felt very special with this caring, dedicated army
responding to her every need.
Our dad
at the time was in the "extended care" facility .He has
since died and unfortunately never had the opportunity to experience
the
apartment. He was well aware through my mom of her happiness with
the apartment.
Our sincere
thanks to all who helped setup the apartment; Mrs. Hesdon, the housekeepers,
the maintenance staff, the therapists and whoever behind the scenes
made the move a pleasant experience. We are very pleased with our
family’s choice of Deer Madows and continue to be awed by the
staff and its caring nature.
