Edward J. Reader, RA, NCARB, Chair, Architect

Edward graduated from Drexel Evening College School of Architecture. He has designed many buildings, commercial and industrial, in several states. Edward is self-employed doing residential, industrial and commercial additions, alteration planning and designs.

He served on the Board of Trustees at Christ's Home in Warminster, Pa for 13 years. Edward joined the Board of Trustees at The Baptist Home of Philadelphia d/b/a Deer Meadows Retirement Community in 1991 and is currently the Board Chair of BHP Services Board of Trustees.

Rev. Jerry Sanders, Retired Deputy Sheriff

Jerry is a retired Chief Inspector of Philadelphia County Sheriff Office where he oversaw criminal and civil and operations. He is Board President of Reba Brown Senior Residence Inc. He is a licensed minister of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and serves on the executive board of Mt. Zion Community Development Corporation. Jerry graduated from Saint Joseph’s University College of Professional and Liberal Studies.

Rev. John Bryant, Executive Director at Christ’s Home Retirement Community

John Bryant is the Executive Director of Christ’s Home Retirement Community in Warminster, PA. A graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University, he holds degrees in bible, music, and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership. He has spent more than 30 years as leader in the non-profit world, including; church, para-church, and CCRC organizations. For several years, he served with the American Lifecare Corporation in a variety of management positions in PA, NJ and IL. He was a founding member of the Board of Trustees of Keswick Pines Manor in Whiting, NJ and has served on the Board of Deer Meadows Retirement Community in Philadelphia since 2003. An ordained pastor, John serves as a leader of worship at Calvary Church in Souderton, PA.

John and his wife are the parents of three daughters and reside in Harleysville, PA.

Christopher Artur, CRS, SRES

Chris is the Broker/Owner of Artur Realty, located at 6201 Frankford Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. Artur Realty is a family owned business started by his father 60 years ago. He has a Business Administration Degree from Temple University and also served on the faculty of Temple Real Estate Institute. With over 34 years professional experience, Chris is an annual Multi-Million Dollar Sales Producer with over 3700 career home sales. Chris is a Certified Residential Specialist as well as a Seniors Real Estate Specialist.

Mr. Artur has served on the Board of Directors of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Philadelphia and was President of the Philadelphia Board of Realtors in 1994.

Chris and his wife, Linda, have been married for 34 years and have three children – Jessica, Alexandra and Christopher.

Joanna Roger McCourt, Ed.D.

Joanna Roger McCourt was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. She attended parochial schools and went on to graduate from Gwynedd-Mercy College, Villanova University and Widener College. Dr. McCourt's professional career started in the parochial school system in Philadelphia where she was an elementary-level teacher. She went on to become an elementary principal in the School District of Upper Dublin from which she retired in June, 2010. She currently serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate department of education for both Cabrini College and LaSalle University.

Laura Lee Visco, BA

Laura earned a BA in English at Arcadia University; she has served on the Deer Meadows Board of Trustees for more than 10 years.  She volunteers for the Philadelphia public schools and serves as an elder in her church.  Currently she is serving the Presbyterian Church (USA) as a member of the Committee on Ministry.  She is a Commissioned Lay Pastor.
