Deer
Meadows Represents PANPHA at House Hearing in Philadelphia
Deer Meadows
Retirement Community’s Director of Nursing, Jennifer
Kreutzer, represented PANPHA at a state House hearing July 30 in
Philadelphia, offering support for HB 1199, which would allow for
indirect supervision of licensed Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA).
Current
law requires direct, on-premise supervision, whereas HB 1199
would change the protocol to allow a PTA to perform patient
services pursuant to indirect supervision by a physical therapist
available
and accessible on a 24-hour basis. Kreutzer told the House Professional
Licensure Committee panel that the change would enhance quality
and accessibility of care as well as increase the operational
flexibility
of providers.
